viagramof – Walid Abdel Wahab, head of the Cairo International Stadium Authority, revealed the refusal to host the Al-Ahly and Pyramids match, scheduled for next Friday, which was postponed from the fourteenth round of the Egyptian Premier League, due to the attack by Swiss Marcel Koller, the Red Devils coach, yesterday.

Cairo Stadium refuses to host Al-Ahly and Pyramids match

Al-Ahly coach Marcel Koller criticized the pitch of Cairo International Stadium, after his team’s 2-0 victory over Tala’ea El-Gaish yesterday, in the 30th round of the Egyptian Premier League.

Walid Abdel Wahab said in radio statements today that an official letter will be sent to Al-Ahly Club on Tuesday to inform it of the refusal to host the team’s match against Pyramids, scheduled for next Friday.

He added that he had addressed the Professional Clubs Association a week ago to close Cairo International Stadium on the 26th of this month for maintenance in preparation for the next season.

Walid Abdel Wahab explained that Al-Salam and Al-Mokawloon Al-Arab stadiums are the closest to hosting the Al-Ahly and Pyramids match next Friday.

He added that the Cairo International Stadium pitch does not have holes, as Marcel Koller, Al-Ahly’s coach, says, stressing that why is the stadium being attacked when it only plays a match every 3 days?

Walid Abdel Wahab concluded his speech by saying that Marcel Koller’s statements about the Cairo Stadium pitch are strange and come from an irresponsible person, but Khaled Bebo, the football director at Al-Ahly Club, contacted him by phone and apologized for what the coach had said.
