Hussein Labib, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zamalek, contacted Mohamed Awad in order to finally resolve the file for renewing his contract, immediately after his return from the national team camp, according to what was reported by the Egyptian newspaper “Al-Watan”.
The Egyptian newspaper reported that there was a verbal agreement between the Zamalek administration and Awad regarding his continuation, after Portuguese coach Jose Gomez recommended that the goalkeeper remain and renew his contract.
