According to a report he published Football Spain website The young star had already given the green light to the Barcelona administration to complete the transfer in the summer, before the data changed later.
The report indicated that last August, when Barcelona was on its preparatory tour in America, club president Joan Laporta conducted a video call that included the club’s sporting director, Deco, from Porto, Nicholas Williams, from the city of Marbella, and his agent, Felix Tainta, from the city of Pamplona.
The call lasted a long time, during which Williams agreed to join Barcelona, before later changing his mind.
Barcelona has not received any message from Williams or those close to him since then.
Spanish newspapers reported earlier that Williams decided to abandon going to Barcelona due to the lack of a guarantee confirming the club’s ability to immediately register him on the team’s roster in La Liga, even after paying the release clause of 58 million euros.
Williams recently confirmed in decisive statements that he is no longer thinking about his future, and stressed that he is completely focused on his Basque team.
