German Matthias Jaissle, the technical director of Al-Ahli Jeddah, is waiting for Mahrez to undergo medical tests before today’s training session, Thursday, and participate in the final training sessions before traveling to Riyadh, according to the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadh.
Mahrez sustained a knee injury while playing for Algeria in the match against Equatorial Guinea, which ended with the Greens winning 2-0, in the first round of the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. It was decided to exclude him from the Algeria match against Liberia, in the second round of the qualifiers.
Al-Nassr will host Al-Ahly in a match that will be held at nine o’clock next Friday evening at Al-Awal Park Stadium in Riyadh, as part of the matches of the third round of the Saudi Roshen Professional League.
