Alvarez said he will consider his future after completing his international duty at the Olympics with Argentina, and Paris are reportedly increasing their interest in signing the former River Plate striker.
However, information coming out of Argentina suggests that Alvarez is closer to a move to Atletico Madrid, with Los Rojiblancos keen to bring in a long-term replacement for Antoine Griezmann.
Julian Alvarez prefers Atletico over Paris
ESPN says Alvarez has agreed personal terms with Atletico, preferring their offer to the more lucrative offer from Paris Saint-Germain because he wants to work with Diego Simeone.
Reports in Spain remain quiet on the move, but Cesar Luis Merlo has also made it clear that there have been multiple talks with Simeone about a move, and Atletico will offer him a five-year deal.
