Cody Gakpo scored a fourth goal in the 90th minute, after exchanging the ball with Nunez, and crowned the attack with a low shot into the narrow corner.
Gakpo concluded Liverpool’s five goals in the 90+3 minute, and the goal came after receiving the ball and shooting into the far corner.
Liverpool will know their opponents in the fourth round of the tournament when the draw is made shortly.
Liverpool tops the list of historical League Cup winners with 10 titles, the last of which was in the 2023/2024 season.
