Al-Ittihad is close to signing Laurent Blanc
According to what was published by the French newspaper “L’Equipe”, Al-Ittihad Club has entered into strong negotiations with Laurent Blanc, the former Lyon coach, to take over the team’s training in the coming period, adding that the last hours witnessed speed in the negotiations to conclude the contract with the coach.
The newspaper indicated that the Al-Ittihad club management wants a French coach to take over the team next season.
It is noteworthy that Laurent Blanc has not coached any team since his dismissal from coaching French club Lyon in September 2023.
Officials of the Saudi Al-Ittihad Club have withdrawn from contracting with Stefano Pioli, the former coach of AC Milan, due to the Frenchman Karim Benzema’s refusal to bring him and his desire for his compatriot Christophe Galtier, the coach of Al-Duhail of Qatar, to take over the reins of the dean.
French press reports recently stated that the Qatari club Al-Duhail refused to dispense with the services of Christophe Galtier in favor of the Saudi Federation, after a tempting offer to the coach worth 36 million euros for a 3-year contract.
