viagramof – Imam Ashour, the Al-Ahly midfielder, entered into a verbal altercation with his colleague Mohamed Magdy Afsha after the end of the African Super Cup match that was held against Zamalek, at the “Mamlaka Arena” stadium in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, last Friday.

Journalist Hani Hathout indicated on his “Match” program that what happened between Afsha and Imam Ashour after the end of the African Super Cup was due to the latter’s refusal to pass through the honorary corridor organized by the Zamalek team.

Hathout said: “Afsha was among 3 players in the tournament Al-Ahly They rejected Imam Ashour’s idea not to appear and participate in the honorary corridor held by Zamalek players as a form of sportsmanship, for fear that he would be exposed to provocation.”

He added that Afsha tried to convince Imam Ashour, but the latter opposed it so that he would not be exposed to provocation from the Zamalek players, especially after the altercation that occurred between him and Nabil Dunga during the match.

He continued: “Imam Ashour was worried about the ‘tahfeel’ on him after he appeared in the honorary corridor for the second place holder, but Afsha was not convinced by that and in the end the player participated in the honorary corridor.”

It is noteworthy that Imam Ashour left Zamalek in January 2023 to play professionally in the Danish club Midtjylland, and then joined Al-Ahly in the summer of the same year.
