Moriyasu: I expect Saudi Arabia to qualify for the World Cup
Hajime Moriyasu said in the press conference: “According to the level that I witnessed in the current period, I expect the Saudi team to reach the 2026 World Cup finals with our team because they are the most prominent candidates in the third group.”
The Japanese team coach added: “We won with two goals, but I would not be surprised if the match ended with the Saudi team winning by three goals to two, because it played a great match.”
He explained: “In every match we have a different tactic, and everyone knows the strength of the Saudi team. It is one of the strongest teams in Asia. We played with three defenders and a collective defensive tactic after we faced great pressure from the Falcons in the first half, and the plan we trained on succeeded.”
