Valverde said, in quoted statements Spanish newspaper Marca, “When I arrived at Real Madrid, I fulfilled my childhood dream.”

He continued: “I learned from the advice I received from others and from high-level players who spent many years here, such as Marcelo, Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema, as well as Nacho, Carvajal, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and others.”

Valverde added: “I have always tried to learn from everyone. For me, there will never be a leader like Sergio Ramos.”

He continued: “Each of them has their own style, and they are all first-level leaders, and I will not be like them, but I want to be the image that young people who come to the club aspire to, and I want to show them the value of this club.”

Valverde touched on the Champions League final that the team will play against Borussia Dortmund on June 1.

He said: “Winning is more important than anything else in the match. We have to enjoy the match, but we have to make more efforts to achieve victory.”

He added, “This is the most important match in your life, and being able to play the match with many of your family members in the stands is the best thing.”
