According to reliable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Atletico Madrid have developed their offer for Alvarez into a financial package worth more than €75 million.
Romano indicated that the increase in the offer came during the two clubs’ talks regarding the deal, and the negotiations are led by Atletico Madrid CEO Gil Marin and his counterpart at City Ferran Soriano.
Earlier, press reports indicated that Atletico Madrid had submitted an offer worth 60 million euros to obtain Alvarez’s signature.

Alvarez is 24 years old, plays as a centre forward, and his contract with City expires in June 2028.
Alvarez joined City in July 2022 from River Plate, and since then he has played 103 matches in all competitions, scoring 36 goals and making 18 assists for his teammates.
Alvarez has 36 international caps for Argentina, scoring 9 goals.
