The Arsenal star said that the atmosphere motivated him and his teammates, and strangely, England’s goals came from Rice and Grealish: “You can see that, we thrive in this kind of atmosphere, we faced the same thing in Scotland last September, and these are the games you want to play in.”
“Obviously they would have given me and Jack a hostile reception but we put up with it, obviously we made our decisions seven years ago too, now it doesn’t really matter, I’ve been playing for England for six years, we have Irish family, my grandmother and grandfather are no longer around and that’s why I didn’t celebrate because it would have been an insult to them.”
