Mahrez suffered a knee injury while participating with the Algerian national team in the match against Equatorial Guinea, which ended with the Greens winning 2-0, in the first round of the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Mahrez was excluded from the Algeria vs. Liberia match in the second round of the qualifiers, and arrived in Jeddah yesterday evening, Tuesday.
German Matthias Jaissle, the technical director of Al-Ahli Jeddah team, is waiting for the results of the medical tests that Mahrez will undergo before today’s training, to determine his position in the Al-Nassr match, according to the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadh.
Al-Nassr will host Al-Ahly in a match that will be held at nine o’clock next Friday evening at Al-Awal Park Stadium in Riyadh, as part of the matches of the third round of the Saudi Roshen Professional League.
It is worth noting that the Al-Ahly team mission is scheduled to leave via private flight to Riyadh, on Thursday evening, in preparation for facing Al-Nasr, after completing the final training session, which will be held tomorrow afternoon.
