This Saturday, the Jordan Football Association appointed Moroccan Jamal Salami as the coach of the national team.
This Saturday, the Jordan Football Association appointed Moroccan Jamal Salami as the coach of the first national team, replacing his countryman Hussein Amuta, who will lead the team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and the 2027 Asian Cup next September.
On its website, the Jordanian federation expressed its pride and deep admiration for Amuta, who will be coaching one of the Emirates clubs next season.
The Jordan Football Association said in a statement: “The Jordan Football Association expresses its pride and deep appreciation for Moroccan coach Hussein Amuta’s time in charge of the first national team and for the great efforts and service he and his assistants have given to Jordanian football. In addition to qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, it has achieved historic success by finishing second in the 2023 Asian Cup, and it deserves to be ranked first in the division.
“The federation appreciates the special circumstances preventing coach Amuta from continuing and accordingly the federation’s board of directors has approved the coach’s request to terminate the contract with him and his assistants by mutual consent.”
The Jordanian Federation has announced that it will present its new coach to the media before the end of this month.
It is noteworthy that Salami has won the title of the best coach in the Moroccan league 3 times in addition to Raja Club as the champion of the African domestic championship with the Moroccan national team.
Salami was one of the Moroccan national team players who participated in the 1998 World Cup finals.
