Saudi 360 – Portuguese winger Felipe Jota, Al-Ittihad’s winger, is close to returning to European football after being excluded from the plans of French Laurent Blanc, the Jeddah team’s coach, in the new season.

Rennes negotiates with Al-Ittihad to sign Jota

Jota joined Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2023 from Scottish club Celtic, but the Portuguese did not gain the confidence of the club and its fans during the matches in which he participated, as he scored 5 goals and made one goal in 25 matches.

According to French reports, Rennes club has started negotiations with Union In order to obtain the services of Jota, who has two seasons left on his contract.

The French website “Le Parisien” reported that Jota will become a Rennes player in the coming days, and that negotiations between the two clubs are proceeding positively.

Saudi reports indicated that Jota, who will definitely leave Al-Ittihad, prefers to return to Europe rather than move to another Saudi club.

The Union is looking forward to getting rid of Jota and removing his name from the club’s foreign players list in order to register another player instead of him before the end of the summer period.

Al-Ittihad Club wants to strengthen its defense line with a foreign deal due to the absence of Brazilian Luis Felipe due to his repeated injuries.

During the current summer period, Al-Ittihad Club signed three foreign players: Algerian Houssem Aouar, French Moussa Diaby, and Serbian goalkeeper Rajkovic.
