Saudi 360 – Saudi club Al-Nassr has backed down from the idea of signing one of the stars of Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon during the current summer transfer window.
Victory turns away from Marcus Edwards deal
Al-Nassr management has planned to sign English player Marcus Edwards, Sporting Lisbon player, in order to support the first football team in preparation for the next season 2024/25.
Portuguese newspaper “A Bola” reported that Al-Nassr’s management has decided not to sign Marcus Edwards due to a clause set by Tottenham that stipulates that it will receive 35% of the player’s future resale value.
The Saudi newspaper pointed out that AL-Nasser club He expressed his desire to sign Marcus Edwards, but no official offer was submitted for him, due to Sporting Lisbon’s exaggerated selling price based on the clause set by Tottenham.
Al-Nassr management has moved away from the Edwards deal, whose market value is 20 million euros, and has started thinking about other alternative options to occupy the right wing position.
It is worth noting that Tottenham Hotspur owns 35% of Marcus Edwards’ commercial rights since he left the Spurs in September 2019, heading to Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal on a free transfer.
