The Royal Club currently occupies a dominant position at  the top of the table , 11 points behind second-placed Barcelona with six matches remaining, while the Basque club occupies  sixth place , three points behind seventh-placed Real Betis in the battle to secure a European seat for next season.

Unless something extraordinary happens, Real Madrid will win the title this season, and it will be fully deserved, being the team that scored the most goals (70 goals) and conceded the fewest goals (22 goals) during an excellent season.

The capital giants are seeking to win another title this season, as they also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, after they ousted defending champions Manchester City in the quarter-finals, and they will travel next week to face Bayern Munich in the first leg of the semi-finals.
