Pep Guardiola won the Premier League manager of the year award

Pep Guardiola led Manchester City to an unprecedented fourth consecutive Premier League title and won the manager’s award.

The Spanish coach has won the award 4 times since joining City in 2016. Guardiola has won 6 league titles and is now the second most successful manager in English football history.

Guardiola said: “This award reflects the hard work and excellence of all staff at the club in all departments. “I am proud to lead this group of players and work side by side with great coaches and support staff every day.”

He added: “Winning 4 titles at a stretch is one of the proudest achievements of my career.” “This is the toughest league in the world and our opponents played fantastic football.”

Guardiola was ahead of his rivals, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery, Bournemouth manager Anthony Irraola and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
