Libyan Moatasem Al-Misrati scored in the final moments to lead his team Besiktas.

Libya’s Moatasem Al-Misrati scored in the dying minutes to help Besiktas win the Turkish Cup, following a thrilling win over Trabzonspor on Thursday.

Nigeria’s Paul Onuachu scored for Trabzonspor in the 13th minute, while veteran Algerian star Rachid Gizal equalized for Besiktas in the third minute of stoppage time.

Salih Ochan added Besiktas’ second goal in the 54th minute, but Ivorian Nicolas Pepe equalized for Trabzon in the 89th minute.

The excitement reached its peak in the final moments, when Al-Misrati scored Besiktas’ second-half winner in the fourth minute of stoppage time to give the team their 11th trophy in the competition and their first in three years.

And Beşiktaş is second in the list of Turkish Cup winning clubs, narrowing the gap with traditional rival Galatasaray (the historic champion of the cup) to 7 titles, and Trabzon is dreaming of winning the title. For the tenth time in its history and the first time since 2020.

This is the third time the two teams have clashed – this season – after they met twice previously in the domestic league.

Last September, Trabzon won three at home, before Besiktas won two unanswered goals in February.
