Despite leaving Stamford Bridge and retiring from football, Belgian star Eden Hazard is still generating money for Chelsea’s treasury, and the Blues are scheduled to receive about 5.8 million euros.

The British newspaper “The Telegraph” explained that Chelsea will receive this amount thanks to Real Madrid’s qualification to the Champions League final.

She added that although the amount is not huge, Chelsea’s management is happy to receive it as it seeks to increase its profits to comply with its own profit and sustainability rules.

Hazard moved to Real Madrid from Chelsea in 2019 with a contract extending for 5 seasons. Although the player retired last October, the terms of his contract are still valid until the end of the current season.

Hazard joined Real Madrid in 2019 in the most expensive transfer deal, but he suffered from many injuries and failed to adapt to the team.

The Hazard deal cost Real Madrid about 151 million euros, in addition to huge bonuses amounting to 46 million.

Despite his limited participation with Real Madrid, Hazard won many titles with the Spanish club, including the Champions League and two local league titles.

The Belgian winger went through 4 disastrous seasons in which he played 54 matches, which caused him to terminate his contract a season before its end and leave Real Madrid last June.
