Barcelona’s Spanish player Al-Amin Jamal became the youngest player to appear at the end of the tournament.

Spain’s El Amin Jamal became the youngest player to represent Spain in the 2024 European Championship finals in their Group B opener against Croatia in Berlin.

Jamal reached the age of 17 years and 246 days in the finals, the record set by Poland’s Kasper Kozlowski, this Saturday at the age of 16 years, 11 months and 2 days.

Midfielder Kozlowski was 17 years and 349 days old in his 2020 European Championship debut against Croatia at Wembley Stadium, breaking the record set by England international Jude Bellingham six days earlier.

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente has praised flying winger Jamal, the coach said on Friday – “He is a young player with amazing talent. “There are very few players who have that ability in terms of understanding the game.”

Switzerland’s Johan Vonlanten is the youngest player to score against France in the 2004 European Championship at the age of 18 years and 141 days.

The tournament could set a new record for the veteran player, as it equals Hungarian goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly’s current record (40 years and 86 days) set in France’s 2016 Euro 2016 round of 16 match against Belgium.

But centre-back Pepe could be 41 years and 113 days old when Portugal play the Czech Republic in Leipzig on Tuesday.
