Austria revived their hopes of qualifying with a 3-1 win over Poland today.

Austria revived their group hopes with a 3-1 win over Poland in the fourth group stage of the UEFA European Football Championship in Germany on Friday at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.

Austria’s goals were scored by Dutch Feyenoord defender (9), German Feyenoord defender Germany Christoph Baumgartner (66) and Inter Italian striker Marko Arnautovic (78 penalty kick), Istanbul Basaksehir (30), Turkish striker scored Poland’s goal.

Before falling to Italy – who later went on to win the title – after extra time (1-2), Austria overcame their 0-1 defeat by France in the first round to temporarily join them in the lead.

Poland, on the other hand, lost for the second time after losing 1-2 to the Netherlands as they hoped to make it to their fifth straight appearance and a second place in the first round. History, when they reached the quarter-finals of the 2016 edition in France and were later eliminated by Portugal on penalties.

This is the second meeting between the two teams since their first appearance in the Continental Cup in 2008 when Austria co-hosted it with Switzerland.

Austria will face Netherlands in Berlin and Poland will face Dortmund in France in the final round on Tuesday.
